Rubio In Town Tonight

SPRING HILL - Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio comes to town today to talk taxes.

Rubio, R-Miami, will appear at a tax rally slated for 7 p.m. at the new VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward Noll Drive. Edward Noll Drive is on the west side of Anderson Snow Road, just north of Anderson Snow Park.

Rubio is coming at the invitation of the Hernando County Taxpayers Alliance to help drum up support for a constitutional amendment that would cap property taxes at 1.35 percent of taxable value.

Supporters are trying to secure the 611,000 signatures needed to get the amendment on next November's ballot.
