The Spring Hill Teaching Computer Club offers day/evening/Saturday classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced computer users at the Weeki Wachee Senior Citizens Center, Toucan Trail and Susan Drive, Spring Hill. For information, visit www.shtcc.net or call 597-3632.

Intermediate Windows XP, 3 p.m. Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26. Course designed to enhance understanding and skills of Windows XP. Techniques applicable with Vista or any software programs. Teaching points demonstrated. Questions are welcome.

Basic Windows XP, 9 a.m. Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28. Designed for the new computer user. Basic computer and Windows concepts covered. Questions welcome.

Introduction to PhotoShop Elements, 7 p.m. Jan. 7, 21, 29. Topics cover basic photo edition techniques including the Organizer and Quick Fix.

Board of Directors, 5:30 p.m.; general membership, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9. President comments, membership and financial reports.

Creating a Web Page, 7 p.m. Jan. 9. Topics cover web design basics using Expression Web, including how to upload your web to use the free web hosting service most ISP's offer.

Genealogy Special Interest Group (SIG) 9 a.m. Jan. 15. Source Documentation & Using Pictures for Identification will be covered. Bring both old and current photos of a family member to see physical similarities for identification help. Research techniques, sites, and research problems also discussed.

Setting Up & Using a Computer Network, 7 p.m. Jan. 16, 23, 31. Topics cover wired or wireless router use, sharing printers, how to configure secure settings, mapping drives, using a network to share and backup files. Designed as a HANDS-ON course; bring your laptop.

Vista Special Interest Group (SIG), 7 p.m. Jan. 10. The Vista operating system and features will be discussed.

Digital Embroidery Special Interest Group (SIG), noon, Jan. 19. Embroidery techniques discussed.

Advanced Digital Picture Special Interest Group (SIG), 7 p.m. Jan. 22. Taking low-light pictures, resolution and camera setting covered, including demonstrations of various camera settings.
