HPH Hospice (HPH), in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, will host a program over five consecutive weeks for individuals who are currently caring for an individual with Alzheimer's or anticipates being in this position.
The program will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Feb. 10 through Wednesday, March 10 at HPH's team office located at 12260 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville.
Topics include an overview of Alzheimer's, how the disease changes communications and dealing with difficult behaviors.
On separate weeks, the Alzheimer Project's caregiver series and its series on research and treatment will be shown. There will be discussion time each week.
There is no charge to participate, but space is limited and advance registration is required.

Health Care Advance Directive forum
"It's Your Right to Decide" is the title of a free community forum hosted by HPH that will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane in Brooksville.
Guest presenter George M. Germann, Esq., will talk about health care advance directives and why it's important to have one.
Sister Ann Stango, SC, D. Min., an education specialist for St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, will cover freedom of choice issues related to health care advance directives. Chief Frank Defrancesco from the Hernando County Fire & Rescue/EMS will offer important health safety tips.
A continental breakfast is included.
