BROOKSVILLE - VFW Post 8713 and Ladies Auxiliary held a Loyalty Day Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, at the Tangerine Cove Assisted Living Facility in Brooksville. Twenty post members attended.
Post Commander Jim Simonetti, Auxiliary President Betty Simonetti, Post Senior Vice Joe Nelson, Post Junior Vice Shorty Nesbit and Post Veteran Officer Jeff Davis participated in the program.
The Tangerine Cove Nursing Home had a DJ "The Elvis Show Plus More" music from the 1950-70s. As always, the veterans had a wonderful welcoming and the residents had a great time. Afterward, the Post and Auxiliary ate hamburgers and hot dogs at the post home.
