Stage West auditions
SPRING HILL Stage West Community Playhouse will hold auditions for Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning drama "Doubt, A Parable" on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., located at 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd. in Spring Hill.
The cast consists of four characters: one male, late 20s – early 50s; one woman, age 50s – 60s; one woman, early 20s; and one African-American woman, early 30s to late 40s. Please try to review material before audition. Reading will be from the script. Production dates are April 12 through 22 in the Forum.

Humane Society holds adoption event at Gulf View Square Mall
NEW PORT RICHEY The Humane Society of the Nature Coast will hold an adoption event on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its ReTAIL and adoption center at 9409 US 19, Suite 369, Port Richey at the Gulf View Square Mall. Rescue groups including Florida Boxer Rescue will be in attendance with dogs available for adoption. The public is encouraged to come to the ReTAIL and adoption center to find a new "forever friend."

Intro to show business workshop
Envy Models and Talent is offering a free workshop and audition "Introduction into the Business of Show Business" in celebration of their 2nd anniversary in Spring Hill. This free workshop is offered to anyone who feels they have the talent to make it into show business. Struggling or beginning models, actors, singers and dancers are encouraged to attend.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Spring Hill location, 4078 Commercial Way in Spring Hill. Singers can come prepared to sing for an audition, if you are interested in modeling, please come with a photograph, actors can come with a monologue or will be given a script. The Southeast motor coach rally is being held beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1 through Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Hernando County Airport, located at Runway Drive entrance, off U.S. 41 south, in Brooksville.

A "Night Under the Oaks" is being held in Downtown Brooksville on Saturday, Feb. 4 starting at 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Offering live entertainment featuring "The Tyler Creek Road Band" and local country singer Brian Chytka. Vendors will offer crafts, jewelry, food, produce, home decor. Local restaurants and shops also open late.

Greek festival
Christ the Savior Greek Orthodox Church hosts a Greek festival on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 starting at 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. both days, located at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad Street in Brooksville.
Admission is $1 donation. Event offers live music, dancing and traditional Greek food, plus door prizes and a kid's zone offering balloons, face painting and more.

Brookridge hosts line dance social
Brookridge hosts its monthly social Saturday, Feb. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Brookridge Community Clubhouse located at 8161 Hampton Street in Brooksville. The Frankie Dee New York orchestra is hosting a Valentine dinner/dance on Sunday, Feb. 12 starting at 1 p.m. at the Town Square Restaurant Banquet Hall located at 3021 Commercial Way in Spring Hill.
Enjoy an afternoon of big band music with jazz, cha-cha's, Frank Sinatra, polkas, Latin, and other old time favorites. The orchestra offers 18 musicians and three singers. Door prizes and refreshments, plus a special dinner for $7.95 with an open desert menu available.

Lakeridge hosts wine festival
Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards hosts its 22nd annual Winefest a three-day event beginning Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 19. Friday and Saturday starting at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday starting at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is a $2 donation to benefit the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, parking is free. Several musicians and over 100 arts & crafts vendors, plus food and beverage vendors. Guests can bring their own chairs or blankets.
