SPRING HILL Brooksville Raid hosted begins Friday, Jan. 20 through Sunday, Jan. 22, hosted by the Hernando Historical Museum Assoc. and North Pinellas Scout Sertoma Club.
Help is needed for the school day on Friday, Jan. 20, with over 1,200 students estimated to attend. Two battles are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Ladies tea will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Blue/Gray Ball Saturday night at 8 p.m. Church service Sunday morning. A $5 re-enactor fee will be collected at the registration desk (13 years and under free). Paid re-enactors will be eligible to participate in a drawing for one of five $100 gift certificates to be used at Sutlers Row during the event. Winners announced at ball on Saturday evening. Cavalrymen, the raid will not give a cavalry bounty of any type. Bring your own hay for your horse, no hay available on site. Horses and mules are required to show current coggins papers at the registration desk before being allowed on the property.
Any and all proceeds from this event are split evenly between North Pinellas Sertoma and the Heritage Museum. Hot showers will be available Friday evening through Sunday, for a nominal fee. Stage West auditions
SPRING HILL Stage West Community Playhouse will hold auditions for Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning drama "Doubt, A Parable" on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., located at 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd. in Spring Hill.
The cast consists of four characters: one male, late 20s – early 50s; one woman, age 50s – 60s; one woman, early 20s; and one African-American woman, early 30s to late 40s. Please try to review material before audition. Reading will be from the script. Production dates are April 12 through 22 in the Forum.

Miss Nature Coast & Miss Teen Nature Coast Pageant
HOMOSASSA The 2nd annual Miss Nature Coast and Miss Teen Nature Coast pageant will be held on Sunday, Jan. 22, hosted by International Pageant Productions Inc., a Florida not for profit scholarship system. The pageant will be held at the VFW located at 8856 West Veterans Drive in Homosassa.
Pageant is open to all young ladies age 14 through 19; teen young ladies age 18 through 25. State level the teen winner will receive a 4 year college scholarship, divisions for younger girls and boys from 12 months to 13 years of age, no talent required. There will be a FREE workshop for all participants to prepare for the pageant on Sunday, Jan. 15.

NEW PORT RICHEY The Humane Society of the Nature Coast will hold an adoption event on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its ReTAIL and adoption center at 9409 US 19, Suite 369, Port Richey at the Gulf View Square Mall. Rescue groups including Florida Boxer Rescue will be in attendance with dogs available for adoption. The public is encouraged to come to the ReTAIL and adoption center to find a new "forever friend."
