Chinsegut events

The following events are scheduled for the Chinsegut Conservation Center at 23212 Lake Lindsey Road.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, starting at 6 p.m. the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is sponsoring "Exploring the Night." Brazilian free-tailed bats are one of many nocturnal animals to be explored. A night hike to May's Prairie will follow the presentation. On Saturday, Feb. 11, starting a t 9 a.m. the FWC has scheduled a walk at Chinsegut's Big Pine Tract, Old Crystal River Road, Brooksville. Participants will hike on the Big Pine Tract with David Rakes in one of the largest contiguous stands of old growth Longleaf Pine.
