BROOKSVILLE - A Spring Hill man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday following accusations he tried to acquire oxycodone with a fake prescription and fake driver's license.
Jeramy Gene Peal, 38, of 17302 Evelyn Court, was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, drug trafficking and displaying or possessing a fictitious ID.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded shortly before 7 p.m. at the Sears off State Road 50 and met with Peal, who said he used a fraudulent prescription and counterfeit license in the hopes of buying oxycodone at the nearby Good Shepherd Pharmacy, located at 13033 Cortez Blvd., according to an arrest report.
The suspect tried to buy 220 pills, deputies said.
Peal was arrested without incident and taken to the Hernando County Jail.
