BROOKSVILLE - City firefighters will not be guaranteed merit or cost of living raises under a new contract waiting for approval from the city council.
In exchange, firefighters will receive full life insurance benefits and the firefighters who serve on the hazardous material team will see an $11.15 increase per paycheck.
The city council is scheduled to address the contract during their regular meeting Monday night at city hall, 201 Howell Ave.
Also Monday, the council will award bids for the destruction of a building at 20021 VFW Road and select contractors for a sewer project.
The employee contract with City Manager Jennene Norman-Vacha is also up for discussion.
