BROOKSVILLE - The Hernando County School Board will vote Tuesday on the final millage rate and taxes and the 2009-10 budget.
The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
In July, the board voted against a tax hike, so the millage rate will remain at 7.47. One mill equals $1 for every $1,000 of taxable property value.
With the $25,000 exemption, the district would tax a homeowner $747 for a house valued at $125,000.
The public will be allowed to comment prior to the vote.
Earlier in the day beginning at 2 p.m., the school board will discuss the possible rezoning of Explorer K-8. The second-year school already is having an issue with overcrowding, said school board member John Sweeney.
The board also will discuss the zoning for the yet-unnamed high school being built along U.S. 19 north of Weeki Wachee and update the ongoing search for a superintendent.
Sonya Jackson will be sworn in as interim superintendent at the start of the regular meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m.
