BROOKSVILLE - People interested in long-range transportation needs for Hernando County will have an opportunity to view maps and displays during three separate public hearings in November.
Hernando County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) staff will be available to answer questions about the 2035 long range transportation plan, including highway improvements, local and regional transit projects, bicycle and pedestrian system improvements and congestion management projects.
Options on how to pay for all this will also be considered.
County commissioners and representatives of local, regional and state agencies may be available for comment.
Comments from the workshops will be presented to the MPO at a meeting scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
The public workshops will be held at the following locations:
• Workshop 1 - from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.3, at the Spring Hill Branch Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive (between Mariner Boulevard and Waterfall Drive).
• Workshop 2 - From 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.4, at the East Hernando Branch Library, 6457 Windmere Road, Brooksville.
• Workshop 3 - 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Hernando County Government Center atrium, 20 N. Main Street, Brooksville.
