Beach Club to hold dinner-dance
HERNANDO BEACH - Hernando Beach Club will hold a Halloween Spooktacular Dinner-Dance at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the club located at 3145 Flamingo Blvd. Musical entertainment will be provided by Starburst. Costumes are not required but are recommended.
Ticket cost is $12 for members and $15 for guests, and reservations are required by Saturday, Oct. 24. The event is open to the public.

Costume party at VFW Post 8681
SHADY HILLS - VFW Post 8681 will host a Doo Wop Halloween Costume Party with dinner-dance Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Post located at 18940 Drayton St., one mile east of Mariner Boulevard, off County Line Road. Cocktail hour and dinner will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with music from 8 to 11 p.m. Music will be provided by "So Fine," and door and best costume prizes will be featured.
The cost will be $10 per person which will include dinner, and payment can be made at the door.

Party to benefit foster children
BROOKSVILLE - Foster Parent Association of Hernando County will hold a Halloween Party and fall dinner-dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at VFW Post 10209 located at 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, off Anderson Snow Road. Complete dinner buffet, live band and disc jockey, prizes and raffle baskets will be featured plus children will receive candy bags. Ticket cost is $20 per person for adults and $10 per person for children 4 to 12 years old. All proceeds of the event will benefit the foster children of Hernando County. Halloween Party at Post 10209
SPRING HILL - VFW Post 10209 will feature a Halloween Party from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Post located at 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Anderson Snow Road.

Trick-or-Treat at Towne Square Mall
SPRING HILL - Towne Square Mall will feature a Halloween trick-or-treat event from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the shopping mall located at 3021 Commercial Way, behind Chili's. Bring children ages 12 and under in costume for safe trick-or-treating at approximately 30 participating merchants.

Christ Lutheran to hold 'Trunk or Treat'
BROOKSVILLE - Christ Lutheran Church will hold its annual "Trunk or Treat" celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the church located at 475 North Avenue West.
Games, treats, bouncy house, hay rides plus hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy will be featured.

Candy, inflatables, popcorn, and cotton candy will be featured.

HERNANDO BEACH - VFW Post 9236 will hold its annual Canteen Halloween Party at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Post located at 3435 Shoal Line Blvd.

Marine Corp to hold costume party
BROOKSVILLE - Marine Corps League, Detachment 708, will hold a Halloween Costume Party from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Detachment located at 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, off State Road 50.
Prizes will be awarded for best individual, couple and group costume.
The cover charge will be $5 per person at the door with a covered dish or snack. The Leatherneck Lounge will be open for choice of beverages.

BROOKSVILLE - Elks Lodge 2582 will host a Masquerade/Halloween Party from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the main hall of the Lodge located at 14494 Cortez Blvd.
Entertainment will be provided by Marty and the Nice Guys. Finger food will be available, and prizes will be awarded for various categories.

Fil-Am Club to sponsor 'Fright Night'
SPRING HILL - Filipino American Social Club of Hernando and Pasco will sponsor a Halloween "Fright Night" from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Senior Citizens Club of Hernando County, 7925 Rhanbuoy Road.
Since the event is a potluck dinner-dance, guests are requested to bring a special dish to be shared.
Hall and entertainment fee is $12 per person, and children 12 and under are free of charge. A variety of music is planned, such as Pop, Latin, Ballroom, Disco, and requests played by DJ Willie of The Professional Exclusive New York DJ Entertainment.
Wear Halloween costumes and compete for "Best Costume" prizes, both adults and children. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.

Halloween Fest at Heritage Museum
BROOKSVILLE - Hernando Heritage Museum will conduct its annual Halloween Fest featuring its certified "haunted" house from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31, at the Victorian house located at 601 Museum Court, off East Jefferson Street.
The three-story house is decorated with a new scary twist in each room, and a palm reader will be present outside the house for fortune-telling entertainment.
A food booth providing hot dogs, snacks, drinks and baked goods will be available. The haunted house is strongly recommended for ages 8 and older only, but there will be a campfire with marshmallow roasting and stories for the younger attendees.
The donation is $5 per person; and proceeds of the event will go toward the upkeep and repairs of the house, as it is the oldest restored house in Brooksville.

Party to be held at Elks 2520
HUDSON - Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520 will hold a Halloween Party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the lounge of the Lodge located at 9135 Denton Ave.
Dinner menu will consist of pork loin sandwiches, chicken wings, sampler platter (cheese stix, poppers and fried shrimp), sausage, and pepper and onion hoagies with french fries.
Dinner prices will range from $4.50 to $7. Prizes for the best costume and music provided by Stan Prinston will be featured.
Admission to the event will be free of charge.
