Last week visiting his mom Helen Havens for a day or so was her son John Havens and his wife Peggy from Beaver, Pa.

It's Happy Birthday time. Joan Kuka was 21-plus on Oct. 9. On Oct. 11, most of her family got together to celebrate. They have a little getaway spot on the Weekiwachee River. So they got together for a barbecue, covered dishes, cake and all to celebrate mom's/grandma's day by the river. There was son Dave Kuka, his wife JoAnn and their son Dave Jr., their daughter Mary Ann and her husband Stephen Marchefe, son Vince Kuka, his wife Tracey, their son Devon Kuka, and their daughter Danielle and her friend Charlie, Joan's daughters Kim Poteet and her son Shane Duryea and Joan's other daughter Melody Daly. Joan got three big beautiful bouquets on Mother's Day. They got her a queen palm tree. This time they got her another one to match. Joan also received lots from everywhere, and thank you all.

Another birthday get-together at the Curtis Manor. Last Sunday, Oct. 18, it was a surprise for moi. I was 75 years young. Never thought I would have made it; but thanks be to God, with His help, I did. I figured my family would be there - daughter Melanie, son Jim, great-granddaughter Makenzee, and my dear friends Virginia Ver and Helen Havens and surprise, surprise, here come Cassie, Denise, her daughter Bianca, her son Zachary (he's getting big), and Cody. I got a bouquet, gifts, cake, lots of cards; and they all made it a tremendously happy day. Thank you all, and God Bless you all.

Get well wishes go to Olga Voscinar, who is now at home recuperating.
