Brooksville - The man convicted of sexual battery against a victim younger than 12 years old was sentenced to life Friday.
Harold Scism, of Brooksville, also received 30 years for convictions on 11 additional sex-related charges against two underage victims.
Originally, Scism was arrested in February 2007 for carrying on a consensual sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl. Authorities say the affair began when the girl was 11 years old.
A conviction for a charge of sexual battery upon a child younger than 12 carries an automatic life sentence.
Fifteen months following his arrest, a new victim was added to the case and Scism, 47, was charged with two additional counts of sexual battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 18.
Scism was convicted of all 12 counts in August.
