Brown-Waite's overall record deserves exposure

Joseph Tomaselli's recent feedback article commending U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, appears to be yet another feeble effort to promote her campaign for re-election.

I fully concur with Tomaselli's concluding paragraph quoting President Ronald Reagan who stated, "that government is not the solution; government is the problem." However, it appears that he overlooked this historical quote in his subtle attempts to profile Brown-Waite as somewhat of an exemplary representative as a result of her voting against the proposed health reform legislation. His attempt to portray her as somewhat of a heroine for doing something outstanding is rather mundane considering she, as usual with the majority of Republicans in the Congress, also voted against the proposed health reform bill.

He also fails to mention that Brown-Waite was also a partisan minion who consistently supported the Bush administration policies and followed lock-step with the Republican Party, which was in the majority and in control of the House and Senate.

Tomaselli also failed to mention that Brown-Waite, along with the Republican majority, bear the full responsibility for reckless spending, inefficient regulatory enforcement and corruption throughout the country's financial system, which is attributable to the beginnings of our insurmountable debt crisis and severe recession.

Then along comes the Obama administration and Democratic control of the House and Senate, which continue the onslaught towards establishing a socialistic state and bankrupting our country.

The career politicians are treating their respective constituencies throughout the country as ignorant fools, and maybe they just might have reason to, as we keep re-electing the same incompetent, allegedly corrupt, and self-serving individuals to represent our interests.

Since term limits will never be proposed or addressed, all American voters , regardless of party affiliation must vote to remove every incumbent politician up for re-election in 2010 and thereafter. Until this is accomplished, nothing in Washington, D.C., will change, regardless of which party is in power. It will be business as usual, with mounting debt, increased spending, ever-increasing taxes and, most importantly, the destruction of our Constitution and our way of life here in the United States!

Again, I appeal to the citizens throughout Hernando County and the assigned districts of Brown-Waite. It should also be noted that the majority of members of Congress spend more than 50 percent of their time in office, either soliciting funds from cronies and special interest affiliations for their re-election campaigns. Then ask yourself: "What has Brown-Waite accomplished for Hernando County and her assigned district during her entire tenure in office other than a lucrative salary with fantastic perks, a health benefit second to none and a Golden Goose retirement package?"

It appears that her cronies have recently been quite vocal in support for her re-election — proclaiming her main accomplishment as that she voted "no' to the proposed health reform bill. Big deal. It's almost laughable. I believe it's now time for all of us voters to wake up to reality, including Mr. Tomaselli, and send Brown-Waite and her associated incumbents packing, regardless of party affiliation.

Until this is accomplished nothing will change in Washington.
