Spring Hill - A record 320 people attended the Hernando County Republican Executive Committee's recent inaugural Reagan Day Dinner fundraiser at the Palace Grand.
In attendance were Sen. Mike Fasano, Sen. Paula Dockery, Republican Executive Committee Chairman Blaise Ingoglia and Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite. The keynote speaker was Former Speaker of the House Marco Rubio.
The fundraiser included a "roast" of Republican elected officials by master of ceremonies, Clerk of Court Karen Nicolai.
The dinner featured an "auction" of Republican elected officials in which all proceeds went to local charities. Winners received such items as: County Commissioner Dave Russell coming to the person's home to detail a vehicle; Commissioner Jeff Stabins cooking dinner for four at someone's house; Commissioner John Druzbick coming over to the winner's house to wash windows.
The local Republican Party raised $1,300 from the auction and the money will be split evenly between the Dawn Center, Barney's Kid's and Lea's Prayers and Postage.
