Hernando County sheriff's deputies say a Spring Hill man threatened his girlfriend with a pistol and followed her as she fled in her vehicle while still on the cell phone with law enforcement.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call Saturday afternoon from a woman claiming that her boyfriend, Albin Holm, 21, had threatened her with a .380 semi-automatic handgun after they argued at their home, according to deputy reports.
She claims Holm told her to leave after she replied she was taking a shower. According to the report, she claims Holm went as far as cutting off the power and water in the house before pulling out a gun.
Deputies arrived just as Holm began to follow his girlfriend in his Cadillac, the report says.
Holm then drove through a stop sign while cutting off several vehicles, traveled two blocks and then stopped — getting out of his vehicle to yell at deputies, who after exiting their vehicles had drawn their weapons believing Holm might be armed.
After Holm was handcuffed, deputies found the gun in the garage at Holm's house.
According to the report, Holm admitted to arguing with his girlfriend, but denied he pointed a gun at her or threatened her life. He also admitted kicking her car, resulting in about $200 worth of damage.
Holm was charged with reckless driving, aggravated assault and criminal mischief. He was transported to Hernando County Jail and held on a no bond status.
His court date is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22.
