Thanksgiving Eve worship Wednesday at Holy Trinity

Happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone. There will be a Thanksgiving Eve worship service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 7 p.m on Wednesday, Nov. 25. They also express thank yous for a successful harvest breakfast. All proceeds went to the food pantry, especially with the holiday so near everything is greatly appreciated.

Also, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are open meetings at Holy Trinity Ministry Center located on U.S. 41 south. On Tuesday, meetings are at 6 p.m.; open means all can attend.

The Tuesday group meets and has open discussions and sharings. An Al Anon group for families of alcoholics meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in classroom "A". For more information, you can call the office at 252-796-4066 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Our Postmistress Niki alerts us that Dec. 6 is the deadline for shipping to our troops overseas, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church extends deepest thanks for a successful rummage and bake sale.

A most enjoyable time was had at the golden jubilee of Father Robert Girouard's ordination to the sacred priesthood. Finger sandwiches and light refreshments were served. The highlight was a video tape that was his life from nearly childhood to now from photographs. A pleasant surprise to Father Robert from Father Bucaria and the parishioners.

They extend to him ad multos annos, and so do we. Mark your calendar: The annual cookie sale will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 after 4 p.m. Mass and Sunday, Dec. 6 after the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses.

Get-well wishes to Diane Rodriguez who is in Tampa General Hospital after a serious fall, breaking a few bones. Diane is well known in the area, especially Brooksville. She and her husband George Rodriguez own the Christmas House. She is a member of the Mural Society, the Brooksville Ladies Club, active in the Republican Club and other city and county organizations. She is an n avid gardener, especially with her orchids. She is alert chatting with family members and friends. We wish her get-well wishes and lots of prayers for a speedy recovery.

Congratulations to Valerie Harwood of St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church. She is this year's recipient of the St. Jude The Apostle Medal. This medal was initiated several years ago by Bishop Lynch to honor individuals who have given of themselves consistently to the church and to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by their service and dedication to the church. Valerie has given of herself all these 19 years that she has belonged to St. Anthony Church. The medal will be awarded today at 3 p.m. by Bishop Lynch at the Cathedral of St. Jude in St. Petersburg.

Have you made your reservations at the Harmony House? It is still not too late, or you can walk in on Thanksgiving Day. They will be open that day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On the menu will be complete dinners such as roast turkey, roast prime rib, Pete's meatloaf, shrimp and scallops, ham and yams, and pork tenderloin. Also available are the six different flavors of tortes, a very tasty dessert made and created by Pete (Mr. Harmony) and can only be gotten at the Harmony House.
