SAN ANTONIO - A 23-year-old Brooksville man was killed and one man was seriously injured Friday morning in a crash on State Road 52.
Richard A. Diab Rosado died after he lost control of his 1997 Ford utility truck while trying to pass a vehicle east of Levi Loop, a Florida Highway Patrol report states. Diab Rosado's truck went off the shoulder, heading west. He then overcorrected to the left and spun into the west lane of the highway, striking a Ford pickup, troopers said.
Diab Rosado's truck crossed both lanes of the road and veered into a ditch, flipping several times. His passenger, Jose Miguel Mendoza, 24, of Dade City, was tossed from the truck, the report states. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
Mendoza was listed in serious condition Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
James David Glisson, 51, the driver of the Ford pickup, had minor injuries, the report states. He was not taken to a hospital.
The crash, which occurred about 9:30 a.m., was under investigation.
