BROOKSVILLE - A fight between two roommates resulted in one getting bloodied and the other arrested, deputies said.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 20086 Wildwood Drive.
The victim suffered a bloody nose, swelling to his face and redness to his right torso, where he said he had been kicked, deputies said.
He told authorities he and his roommate, Steven R. Dumaine, were involved in a verbal argument about the ownership of a dog, according to an arrest report.
That was when Dumaine punched the victim several times, shoved him out the front door, dragged him across the porch and kicked him in his rib cage, deputies said.
Dumaine was questioned a few hours later and said the victim was intoxicated, yelled obscenities at him and shoved him, according to the report.
Dumaine said he retaliated by punching him and forcing him out the front door, deputies said.
There was blood on the carpet, outdoor steps and on the ground. There also was blood smeared across the front porch steps, according to the report.
Dumaine was charged with misdemeanor battery and was transported to the Hernando County Jail.
