BROOKSVILLE - A trial date has been set for the couple accused of abusing a 17-year-old boy in their home by imprisoning him in the bathroom.

Tai-Ling Gigliotti, 51, and her fiancé, Anton Angelo, 46, are facing multiple counts of aggravated child abuse.

Their trial date was set for Feb. 8 by Circuit Judge Jack Springstead.

During a media conference in February following the arrests, Hernando County Sheriff Richard Nugent said the victim was put through "living hell."

Deputies said he was beaten with a piece of wood and locked in the bathroom naked, bloodied and bruised.

Defense attorneys have argued the boy has a penchant for violence and his mother and her fiancé lived in fear of him.
