BROOKSVILLE - Planning and zoning commissioners Monday approved a conditional plat amendment for Eagle Point subdivision, an area west of Shoal Line Boulevard and north of Eagle Nest Drive.
The applicant, Manuel LLC, sought a reduction in lots from 11 to seven.
Among the stipulation imposed by P&Z staffers: The applicant will have to participate in the upgrading of the county's water and sewer systems; there will be no vertical seawalls or individual boat ramps off the Gulf property; there must be a wildlife survey of the property to determine if there are any protected species on-site.
The Eagle Point site gained attention during settlement negotiations involved with the Hernando Beach dredging project.
Ultimately, the county ended up paying the Manuel family $196,000 to sever the contract that would have had the county dump the dredge spoil on their Eagle Point property.
