BROOKSVILLE - A second H1N1 vaccination clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, the Hernando County Health Department announced this week.
Vaccines will be administered from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Nature Coast Technical High School.
There will be 750 shots available and they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to those who meet the high-risk priority group, said Ann-Gayl Ellis, a health department spokeswoman.
"It's becoming more available," she said of the vaccines. "We've already been getting them out to our obstetricians and pediatricians, so it's getting out there in the county."
The high-risk group includes pregnant women, people between the ages of 6 months and 24 years, healthcare workers who have direct patient contact, those who care for infants 6 months and younger and those ages 25 to 64 who have "compromised immune systems," according to the health department.
Tickets for the vaccinations will be distributed beginning at 8 a.m. the day of the clinic. They will be numbered and will include time slots, so people can either wait for their times or return later, Ellis said.
The school is located at 4057 California St.
The first shipment of intranasal vaccines arrived Oct. 13. Since then, 2,300 doses of that version of the vaccine have been given. To date, the health department has administered 4,400 doses of the injectable form.
