Deputies arrested a 20-year-old woman Monday after she stuffed a pickled sausage into her pants and walked out of the store without paying for it, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Brittany Gariepy was charged with retail theft and driving on a suspended license. She was on probation at the time of her arrest, according to arrest report.
Authorities arrived at the scene after an employee at the 7-Eleven at 15310 Cortez Blvd. witnessed Gariepy walk out the store with the sausage inside her pants, deputies said.
Gariepy was in her vehicle when deputies arrived and they noticed the wrapper to a Big Mama pickled sausage on the floor, according to an arrest report. The food inside the wrapper had already been eaten, deputies said.
