Brooksville - Trial began Monday for a man accused of holding an acquaintance captive and forcing her to commit sex acts over 14 hours.
George Olmo, 33, faces nine charges, including armed sexual battery, kidnapping while armed with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
The charges stem from May 2007, when he reportedly broke into a home and forced a man who challenged him into a closet at gunpoint. He then waited until a 29-year-old woman came inside from mowing the grass and made her strip naked.
Over the next day, investigators allege, Olmo forced the woman to perform sex acts. At one point, he took prescription pills and dropped his guard, allowing the victims to escape.
Jurors were selected from around 10 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Several jurors were dismissed after they were said they couldn't sit through the trial after learning the graphic nature of the case.
Opening statements are expected to begin at 9 a.m. today before Circuit Judge Stephen Rushing.
