BROOKSVILLE - More than 100 fine art and fine crafts vendors are expected to participate in the annual juried show. A total of $3,000 will be awarded in various categories including best in show, first, second and third places.
A student art exhibit representing all Hernando County public, private schools and home-schooled students will be featured at the event.
There will be four categories, elementary, middle school, high school and community college.
For the first time the Hernando County Fine Arts Council (HCFAC) will sponsor a poetry contest open to K-5 students.
The topic is Mother's Day and a $50 savings bond will be awarded to first place. The winner and runners-up will recite their poems at the festival.
There will be several tables of activities for children.
Concessions for food and drink will be available.
The music festival also will feature local talent, including the Chocachatti Community Chorus and the Powell Middle School Dance students.
The Fine Arts Council sponsors the event in conjunction with the City of Brooksville Department of Parks and Recreation.
The event is free to the public.
