BROOKSVILLE - Two local businesses within walking distance of one another will display the works of two local artists at wine and cheese receptions Thursday.
The free receptions, organized by the Spring Hill Art League, will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Nanette's Spirit of the Hand Gallery, 13157 Cortez Blvd., will host Julie Komenda. The work of Renee Dodson will be on display at Patio Paradise, 7069 Coastal Blvd. Both businesses are in the Coastal Way Plaza.
Komenda has been practicing the art of batik for more than 30 years and incorporates new techniques to create shimmering images with depth and texture. She is the artist in residence for the Hernando County Fine Arts Council and Hernando County School District.
Renee Donson is trained in the Donna Dewberry One Stroke painting method and teaches art.
The work will be up until the end of March. For more information, call Spirit of the Hand, 597-7391.
