Three-Car Crash At Brookridge And S.R. 50

BROOKSVILLE - Midday traffic was down to a crawl as authorities cleared the scene of a three-car crash at the intersection of State Road 50 and Brookridge Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
A traffic deputy on the scene said from initial appearances two cars were stopped at a red light in the westbound lanes when a pickup truck smashed into the car in the rear and pushed it into the front car. The driver of the pickup truck was flown by medical helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center; the driver of the middle vehicle was transported to a local hospital and the couple in the lead car refused medical treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
