Sympathies & birthdays
Sympathies extended to the Halecky family on the death of Peter Halecky, 89, who passed away on Feb. 26. He and his wife of 57 years, Anna retired here to stay in 1973, prior to that they were visitors here. Anna's parents, the late Joseph and Anna Fabsik had a pastry farm on Benes Lane before they moved to Lincoln Avenue. Then, the Halecky's came down and stayed with them until their home was built. He leaves behind wife Anna, two sons and three grandchildren. Halecky was born in Bardejov, Slovakia and was a retired school custodian. Son, Pete and his wife Cristine came down from New York City, N.Y. and son, Duane and wife Jeri from Hawthorne are here. Rev. James Bucaria officiated at the funeral home and at the Masaryktown Cemetery. Pete, you are gone but not forgotten.
