Big congrats, and we do mean big! Our Lil' Lane Dodson, local son, grew up to be 6 feet 6 inches and weighs in at 270 pounds - just the right size for this left tackler, who graduated from Nature Coast Tech a few weeks ago, and last week he signed with Maryville College in Tennessee. His proud family consists of dad Larry Dodson, sister Lauren who is a mermaid at Weeki Wachee Springs - following in mom Lydia Kovarcik Dodson's footsteps, who was and still could be a mermaid. Also, Lydia's mom, the late Christina Kovarcik, the pioneer who opened the first post office in Masaryktown. Good luck in your future, Lane!
Father's Day happenings: At Ramon and Aurea Diaz's home, they were in and out all day. Well, they have six daughters, add their spouses, and so on for four generations! Pa-Pa got tons of hugs all day.
Get well wishes were in order Father's Day at the ER of Bayonet Point Hospital for John Kovacs and his poor stressed wife Christine. He is now home recuperating.
Now, Jo Ann took hubby John Grotto on her boat for Dad's Day. Spent the day chillin' out in the Gulf of Mexico and joined by friends John and Sandra Henson.
John Henson especially had a ball - he is in the U.S. Army National Guard - Unit 356 based in Lake Wales, and just came home two weeks ago. A super great, well-spent day of sailing, snorkeling and sunbathing.
Our bead lady has come back home! She was in her hometown of Marlboro and Worcester, Mass. visiting family and friends, especially her 17-year-old grandson who graduated with high honors from Marlboro High School and has been in National Honor Society for the past three years. Daniel Imperato was awarded with high mathematical achievement and has won four scholarships. He is qualified for presidential scholarships at Holy Cross College. He was captain of the varsity baseball team and was homecoming king. Good luck in your future.
The above bead lady - Mona Premorel is still teaching beading at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church every Monday at 6:30 p.m. She will also be teaching at the new bead store on Deltona Boulevard, not only beading, but bead weaving. For details, you can call her at 352-397-3351.
Adrian and Andreea Mandreanu came up from Miami to celebrate their second anniversary, June 28, with Adrian's parents - Pete and Mariana Mandreanu - who were wed 35 years on June 14. We wish them all many more in good health.
Sympathies to the family of 59-year-old Sandra Faye Dollarhyde Hibbard who died June 20. She leaves two sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, one brother and one sister. Sandy, you are gone, but not forgotten.
