BROOKSVILLE - Police believe a car was traveling 100 mph on Main Street when it lost control and began to spin, wiping out street lamps, a park bench, trees and a street sign, among other things.
Officers were sent to around 2:20 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of Main and Fort Dade Avenue, where they said they found a blue Ford Mustang with heavy damage. There was also "significant" structural damage to 111 N. Main St., according to a report.
The driver, Kay'C Lopez, 23, and her two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital for treatment. Alcohol is suspected to play a role in the crash and a blood sample was taken from Lopez for testing.
Investigators believe Lopez lost control of the car when it struck its undercarriage on the grade in the road at the Broad Street intersection.
