SPRING HILL - A teenager smashed a glass front door and two windows in his attempt to retrieve a pair of sneakers on Tuesday, deputies say.
The 16-year-old suspect showed up at a home on the 1100 block of Academy Avenue around 2 a.m., demanding his sneakers, according to a report.
When a girl came out and told him there were no sneakers in the house, the suspect reportedly grabbed rocks and threw them through the front door and living room window.
He also broke the driver's side window of a Ford pickup in the driveway, a report states.
The suspect ran from the scene after causing the damage, but was caught by a deputy canvassing the neighborhood. The remorseful suspect admitted to the damage, saying that he worked hard for the sneakers and when he didn't get them back he "lost it," a report states.
The suspect, who is not being named because of his age, was charged with throwing a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling and criminal mischief.
