BROOKSVILLE - A man convicted of raping his children's mother at gunpoint was sentenced to 25 years in prison last week.
George Olmo, 34, will also serve five years of probation of sex offender probation following his release from prison.
Jurors heard in May how Olmo stalked, threatened and sexually assaulted the victim after hogtying the victim's brother and shutting him in the closet during a 16-hour long ordeal in May 2007. Their children, who were ages 1 and 3 at the time, were in the other room watching television.
The defense argued the victim wanted to take away his children and created a story to dupe authorities.
