The Florida Highway Patrol will be checking for bad brakes, worn tires and other faulty equipment throughout the month of July.
Hernando is among the counties where troopers will be conducting driver's license and vehicle inspection checkpoints. The other counties are Pinellas, Pasco, Citrus and Sumter.
"The Patrol has found these checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing the equipment and driver license laws of Florida while ensuring the protection of all motorists," a news release states.
Hernando County's checkpoints will be found at: County Roads 476, 480, 481, 484, 491, 493, 495, 541, 580, 572, 576, 581, and 597. The local roads are LaRose Road, WPA Road, Yontz Road, Kettering Road, Reynolds Road, Daly Road, Ridge Manor Boulevard, Grove Road, Horse Lake Road, Osowaw Road, and Barrett Road.
