People ride public transportation and you pay as you go, it's not free. Listen to what David Hamilton, county administrator, wrote, "Even though it's very time consuming it's time very well spent. People appreciate being able to voice their opinions before we get to the first stages of the budgeting process. For me it's also a learning opportunity."
Then, why did the five commissioners hold a public meeting on June 23 at 9:30 a.m. and in plain words jerk us into thinking we could come and hope and pray that it would be to our need for THE Bus to be done like every hour for all, like working people, volunteers, also aged with wheelchairs on our bus who paid their way always with pleasure to have THE Bus?
Public transportation is not there to make a profit but a way of living, as we moved here for the comfort to retire here. Two hours in the hot sun and cold weather to wait is what they drum up for us. It's going to be very hard. Gone is the American Dream.
