Chinsegut Nature Center will conduct the following activities:
Incredible Edibles Collection and Preparation Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 7. Participants will collect wild plants and learn the process of food preparation with wild food.
Spider Prowl by Mark Stowe will be conducted from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 10. A spider talk and prowl with biologist Stowe will be featured. Bring a flashlight and insect repellent.
Florida Snakes by Jim Mendenhall will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. Live snakes and natural history information will be featured.
Project WILD/Aquatic WILD will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23. Natural history educator workshop by Chinsegut staff and volunteers. In-service credit will be available.
Big Pine Wildflower and Tree Walk will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28. Meet at the Big Pine Tract on Old Crystal River Road off U.S. 41.
Support for several of the programs will be provided by the Hernando Audubon Society. Unless otherwise noted, all programs will meet at the Chinsegut Nature Center, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. All programs are free of charge. Reservations are required for workshops and classes.
