BROOKSVILLE - County Engineer Charles Mixson Tuesday will highlight for county commissioners a series of improvement projects targeted for South Brooksville.
The projects include a new sheriff's community center ($400,000); sidewalks on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from U.S. 41 to Main Street ($359,000 to $375,000); and improvements to Kennedy Park ($400,000).
The projects were first proposed during a recent meeting of the Community Initiatives Team (CIT), which was created to support improvements in areas of unincorporated Hernando County.
The CIT voted to present the list of priority projects to county commissioners for review at their meeting which begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
Also Tuesday, commissioners will be presented with an audit of the county's payroll operations performed by the clerk of the circuit court.
Except for scattered recordkeeping problems, the audit contained no major flaws.
