Jacobus J. Mooiman, 95, of Ocala, formerly of Brooksville, died Thursday, Jan. 22, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was born in the Netherlands and moved to this area a year ago from New Jersey.
Mr. Mooiman was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala.

Walter K. Strack, 89, of Brooksville, died Friday, Jan. 23.
Survivors include his son, James; and a brother, Gene.

Juanita Hood Vagnoni, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 24, at Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Canonsburg, Pa., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Greensburg, Pa.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale E. Henderson of Spring Hill; a stepson, John P. Vagnoni Jr. of Collegeville, Pa.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

John L. Brennan, 92, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 24, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Ireland.
Mr. Brennan was a retired contractor.
Survivors include a son and a daughter.

Albert W. "Higgy" Higginson, 68, died Sunday, Jan. 25, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Forest Park, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Donald and Michael, both of Green Bay, Wis.; two daughters, Janice Berman of Spring Hill and Barbara Verhagen of Green Bay; and three grandchildren.

Salvatore "Sam" Giovenco, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 24. He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 35 years ago.
Mr. Giovenco had been a local restaurant owner for over 15 years and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Angelina "Angie"; a son, Joe; three daughters, Angie, Tina and Rosie; a brother, Tony; three sisters, Rose, Grace and Joanne; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Marian Maiese, 91, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Jan. 25. She was born in Scranton, Pa., and moved to Florida two years ago.
Mrs. Maiese had worked as a seamstress and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Esposito of Brooksville and Louise Santana of Decatur, Ga.; a brother, Benjamin Truncali of Scranton; and three grandchildren.

James H. Dennis, 78, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Jan. 26, at the Hudson Hospice Care Center. He was born in Ayr, Ontario, Canada, and moved to Florida 24 years ago from Jackson, Mich.
Mr. Dennis was a quality control inspector for General Motors and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include his son, James R. Dennis of Spring Hill; a brother, Bob; four sisters, Betty, Kay, Margy and Pat; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
