The United States government of the people has become the government of the political elite. The fear mongering by the elite has always been the tool they used to bloat government. Our concern for our well-being and survival has allowed the bureaucrats of D.C. to creep into our homes and daily lives. Crises of the Great Depression, New Deal, World War II, the Great Society and the present meltdown of our global consumer economy, has been the impetus used to inflate our central government.
Every additional government program makes it easier for citizens to become more dependent and less in control of their own destiny. The political elites have bribed large blocks of voters by pandering to their desire for new handouts at the cost of their individual and family's freedom and emotional stability.
Government has slowly moved forward like molten lava covering and destroying the individual's responsibilities and freedom for his own life. Our quality of life has increased materially while our relationships and spiritual lives have become bankrupt.
Our modern Big Brother concept of government is seducing many parents to abdicate their responsibilities for their children. This gradual eroding of the obligations of parents toward their families has fostered a more "me oriented" weaker people willing to sell their souls for another government service to make their existence easier.
The quality of life has been diminished as we have allowed government to pick our pockets. In return it has provided ineffectual services. The newest offerings by government, during the present recession, are having sent large government checks for nothing and plans for minimizing or eliminating home mortgage obligations. This is on top of free breakfast, lunch, dinners, healthcare, medical, sex education, social activities offered before and after school. There are even food stamps, unemployment, income and free tuition for college students. Many traditional functions of parents have been usurped by the "nanny state."
Regardless of the relentless propaganda of the effectiveness of these government, the overwhelming evidence demonstrates government programs cannot come close to duplicating a two-parent family. No matter how many dollars spent on government representatives invading our lives, parents cannot effectively be replaced.
Children from broken homes, even when receiving special government services, perform below children from two parent families. There is a direct positive correlation with children of single parent families dropping out of school, experiencing out of wedlock pregnancy, drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness and criminal behavior. The evidence is overwhelming.
Even with these government incentives attempting to render biological parents obsolete and extinct, the traditional family is more important today in our greedy, deviant and exploitive culture than at any time in America's past.
A biological father and mother have unique characteristics and advantages that make them most effective in raising their own children. Genetics, instinctual urges and daily intimacy give biological parents strong inner motivation to insure the success of their child. The natural inclination of parents to bond with their children gives them the perseverance and willingness to sacrifice no matter the level needed for the sake of their children. There is no amount of money that can be paid for all the roles that a parent must accomplish in the raising of their child. The incredible investment we put into raising our children has a more incredible payoff.
The greatest legacy most of us can accomplish in our lives is being the head of a wholesome family. The satisfaction of viewing our healthy adult children and grandchildren, for most of us is the most heartfelt fulfillment of our lives.
The cumulative strength of our families is the cornerstone supporting our constitutional republic. An expanded centralized government is incompatible with strong, functioning families and a free nation.
Reject the empty promises of government to supposedly improve our lives for the result is a loss of our freedom to shape our families and nation according to our ideals. Standing up for our right to raise our children by making our own decisions without government intrusion is the way back to a more meaningful and balanced life.
Rather than experimental social engineering by detached power elites who do not care about the resulting human devastation, let us place our faith in God and family that has a proven track record throughout the ages.
