Community Meeting Today At 2 p.m.

The annual community meeting is today at 2 p.m. at the Masaryktown Community Center on Lincoln Avenue. One position is open, and the candidates are Angelina Pruitt and Mynika Levesque.

Calling all residents: On Jan. 25 at noon at the Community Hall, there will be a "Monster Clean the Hall Day" - from top to bottom. Just come by at noon - you do not have to stay the entire day, just whatever time you can spare. The more people helping, the less time spent by everyone. Any help is greatly appreciated.

At 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, Eddie Piper of Pennsylvania will hold a concert at the First Baptist Church of Masaryktown. Piper is well known for his more than 30 years of performing. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend.

Mark you calendars: On Jan. 29 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Life Line Screening will be held. This is a package that includes stroke, vascular disease and heart rhythm screening for only $139. Shoes and socks will be the only clothing required to be taken off, and screenings will be completed in a little more than an hour.

Physicians generally do not order these screenings unless there are symptoms, and many insurance companies will not pay for these screenings unless symptoms are prevalent. Heart Institute at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson is the sponsor. Appointments need to be made ASAP, since it's only a one-day screening and spaces are limited. Birthdays & anniversaries

Last Sunday, Rebecca Parsolano turned 7 years old. Her mom, Helen Parsolano, older sister Stephanie and mom Helen's friend Daniel Marcum all went to Disney World for a three-day celebration - a very whimsical one at that!

More birthday celebrations - last Saturday, Jan. 10, Karen Raimondi celebrated her birthday with an outing at the Manatee Arts and Crafts Festival in Crystal River. Helping her celebrate this special day were her daughter Heather Raimondi, Karen's boyfriend Steve Cuocco, and Karen's pride and joy - 3-year-old grandson, Anthony. After a balmy day of shopping, all enjoyed dinner at Cody's Roadhouse in Crystal River. Upon returning home, Heather and Anthony surprised "Nana" with birthday cake and ice cream. We wish Karen many more in good health!
