AREA DEATHS

Anthony J. Petraline, 74, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 10, at his home. He was born in Chester County, Pa., and moved to this area eight years ago from Philadelphia, Pa.
Mr. Petraline was a retired corrections officer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a Navy Seal, and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; a stepdaughter, Amy Locco of Philadelphia; a stepson, Charles Raschiatore of Philadelphia; a brother, Charles Petraline of Norristown, Pa; and a grandson.

Maria Rivera, 81, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 10, at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando. She was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, and moved to this area 21 years ago from Queens, Long Island, N.Y.
Mrs. Rivera was a retired dressmaker for Veta Company, New York, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Rivera of Aguire, Puerto Rico, and Angel Rivera Jr. of Commack, N.Y.; three daughters, Zoraida Diaz of Orlando, Alma I. Scordado of Spring Hill and Myrna Y. Diaz of Orlando; a brother, Calmelo Cintron of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Josefina and Mercedes Cintron, both of Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Gloria McFarland, 79, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at her home. She was born in New Jersey and moved to this area 13 years ago from Rhode Island.
Mrs. McFarland was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis McFarland of St. Petersburg and William McFarland of Rhode Island; and a daughter, Kathy Tetreault of Cumberland, R.I.

Frank Traina, 79, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 10, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Long Island, N.Y.
Mr. Traina retired as a construction foreman. He was a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran and a member of The Sons of Italy, Spring Hill, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; a son, Dennis Traina of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Patricia Carbonaro of Lutz; two brothers, Tommy M. Donegan of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Phillip Traina of Hazlett, N.J.; a sister, Lillian J. Giordano of Spring Hill; four grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Vicki L. Carpenter, 56, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Hernando-Pasco Care Center, Brooksville. She was born in Sinclair, Mich., and moved to this area 25 years ago from St. Petersburg.
Mrs. Carpenter worked as a housekeeper in a nursing home and was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; three sons, Christopher Burm, Bryan Skuta and Justin Skuta, all of Brooksville; and seven grandchildren.

Rita Mae Cook, 96, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 11, at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Conestoga, Pa., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Livonia, Mich.
Ms. Cook was a retired secretary and a member of Christian Life Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two nephews, Robert Lively of Shelby Township, Mich., and Gene Lively of New Port Richey; and two nieces, Gail Farris of Troy, Mich., and Lois Lively of Belton, Texas.

Janice M. Baker, 74, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 11, at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Burlington, Vt., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Simi Valley, Calif.
Mrs. Baker was a retired credit adjuster and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold; two sons, Christopher J. Baker of Bakersfield, Calif., and Rick Baker of Santa Clarita, Calif.; two sisters, Iona L. Metcalf of Spring Hill and Geraldine Debuque of Ocala; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Beverly J. Davenport, 73, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 11, in Brooksville. She was born in Summit, N.J., and moved to this area 11 years ago from New Jersey.
Mrs. Davenport was a retired bank teller and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include her mother, Grace Mele; two brothers, Pat Mele Jr. and Anthony Mele; a sister, Patricia Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra M. Woodin, 53, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Jan. 11.
Mrs. Woodin was a member of Eastern Star, New York, and Mariner United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; and a brother, James Baker.
