Borrowed vehicle leads to stabbing, authorities say

BROOKSVILLE - A Dade City man angry that his vehicle wasn't returned on time broke into a house New Year's Day and stabbed the man who borrowed it, authorities say.

Dennis Wayne Taylor, 51, arrived at a home on Tamer Lane in Brooksville on New Year's Eve, kicked in the door and stabbed Robin Wood twice in the side, according to an arrest affidavit. Taylor "was upset over his vehicle not being returned when Robin had promised," the affidavit states.

Another man was able to push Taylor out of the house. Wood, who was visiting the home at the time, suffered a small laceration to one of his lungs, the affidavit states.

Taylor, of 38003 Trilby Road, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated battery with a weapon and felony burglary with a weapon.

Fight may leave man disfigured

SPRING HILL - A fight between two men Sunday morning resulted in one man's arrest for felony battery and another man with wounds serious enough to leave him "permanently disfigured," authorities say.

Deputies responded to 6280 Danbury St. in Spring Hill to find Tim Fiandola with a large bruise on his face and "bleeding profusely" from a large cut above his eye, according to a deputy's report.

Fiandola, 33, told deputies he and his girlfriend were arguing when another man intervened and the two men began to fight. Fiandola later woke up on the floor.

Thomas Collins, 25, admitted to knocking Fiandola down and hitting him several times. Collins said he "got mad" when it appeared Fiandola was trying to hurt his girlfriend.

Collins, of 1056 Savoy Court in Spring Hill, was arrested and charged with felony battery. Fiandola needed 36 stitches above his eye and suffered a contusion to the face that "will cause permanent disfigurement," according to the report.

Deputies later arrested Fiandola for domestic battery for allegedly striking his girlfriend earlier that night, the report states.
