No Justification For Abortion

In response to the guest columnist, Christina Page (Dec. 27), I would like to state there is no common ground on the issue of abortion. There can be no rationalization that can justify the murder of a baby in the mother's womb.

She mentioned Douglas Kmiec, a Catholic who supported Barack Obama, but she didn't tell you that Kmiec was denied Holy Communion for supporting Obama. She also mentioned "Catholics United," which is a liberal group that has been condemned by Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput for creating confusion about the Catholic church's teachings on abortion.

There are many renegade Catholics in this country and many of them are bishops, archbishops, priests and deacons. They either supported Obama or failed to point out to their parishioners that Obama is one of the most radical pro-choice politicians in the Congress. Because many Catholic leaders sat in silence, more than 50 percent of Catholics voted for Obama. Very few Catholics know that Obama joined with several other senators and co-sponsored the Freedom of Choice Act (S. 1173).

This bill will nullify all state laws and federal laws that in any way attempt to limit or regulate abortion, including the horrific procedure known as partial-birth abortion. In other words, our state laws will be stripped if Obama signs this bill into law.

He has promised Planned Parenthood that the first thing he will do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. When Obama said at one of his rallies that if his daughters became pregnant out of wedlock that he would not want to punish them with a baby, he wasn't kidding. He is willing to abort his own grandchild.

Liberals like Christina Page want you to think there is no help out there for pregnant women, but this is far from the truth. Right here in Hernando County we are blessed with a pregnancy crisis center called "A New Generation" located at 134 E. Fort Dade Ave., Brooksville. You can call 352-544-0911 if you would like more information. Most churches of all denominations will offer assistance to pregnant women in crisis, so pass the word if you know of anyone in need of help.

Ms. Page mentioned the "ire" of the traditional anti-abortion hierarchy, but she hasn't seen anything yet. I belong to a group who is planning a nationwide movement to appeal to Pope Benedict XVI to excommunicate all Catholic pro-choice politicians.

They can't hide because their voting records will prove their pro-choice status. As I stated, Ms. Page, there is no common ground when it comes to the life or death of an unborn child.
