BROOKSVILLE - Volunteers are being sought for the first One Man Rally, an effort to bring male mentors together with young men and boys who need role models.
The event is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 7 at Kennedy Park, 875 Kennedy Blvd. in Brooksville.
A volunteer orientation will take place today at 10 a.m., also at the park. Volunteers will be needed to direct traffic, referee games and serve food at the rally, said Pastor Clarence Clark of Shiloh Problem Solvers, the nonprofit group working to organize the rally in conjunction with the Hernando/Sumter Head Start and the Hernando Parks and Recreation Department.
Youngsters from Eckerd Youth Camp in Brooksville and Hope Youth Ranch in Pasco County will attend the rally to take part in games such as flag football and chat with men who can serve as role models for a day, Clark said.
Men who would like to attend the rally or the volunteer orientation and want more information should call Clark at 796-5555.
