The press has reported that the Attorney General of the United States has said that we are a "nation of cowards." Aside from the fact that his statement reflects his personal views on how our private lives should be conducted, it's something the government has no business being concerned with in any manner.
I question how he can define cowardice; his biography shows no military service, so he can't define it in that sense. I challenge him to take a short trip from the Justice Department over to Arlington Cemetery, stand in front of the Tomb of the Unknowns and repeat his statement aloud that they were all a "nation of cowards."
This is another example of the liberal elite "knowing" how we should conduct our private lives. I guess they can start by telling us how many of each ethnic group we should have as friends and move on rapidly to telling us how many children we can have and what jobs we can hold.
Seems that another country experimented with this system of the "government knows best;" it was the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Maybe the United States should learn from history and not repeat its failures.

Earl's Ramblings Filled With Deception

In reply to the most recent ramblings by Frances Earl on the above referenced title, I believe more than a few readers of Hernando Today would like to ask the author about some stuff we would like to know about her.
Mrs. Earl, why are you so angry at America and hateful to anyone who does not have the same political persuasion as you?
In your weekly ramblings, why don't you ever address and state facts but write only lies and deception?
Why do you always pander to the middle class and play the race card?
Why don't you understand basic business principals? From your writings it is apparent that you never ran a business or were responsible for a profit and loss statement.
Why are you a bigot? On more than one occasion you have indicated your complete hatred for people from India and China and, this week, Brazil.
Why aren't you for women's rights? I state this because during the recent campaign you used your pen and the Democratic National Committee talking points to smear Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as only you can with nothing but lies and distortion of the truth. If this lady was of your political persuasion, I do not believe this would have occurred, would it?
Why don't you understand the mess that our Social Security program is in? You again continue to avoid hard facts on this issue and just dance and pander. You do need to take Mr. Gries up on his recent offer and receive some much-needed education on this most important issue that affects so many people in this area.
Why don't you ever comment on what and who (No, it was not your hated George Bush) really started the mess our country is now into? How about just stating facts and the truth about your beloved Frank, Schumer and Dodd to start with? While you are at it, some truth and facts would be nice regarding Soros and MoveOn.org, ACORN, Daschle, Geithner, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and the list could go on for pages.
However, I bet that no words will ever be written by you, as these people and organizations are near and dear to your political focus.Back last summer, well before the election, in the July 29, 2008, edition of The Wall Street Journal an editorial titled "Obamanomics Is a Recipe for Recession" ran. Please reference this piece and remember it so you can write a future column on the state of our economy and how bad it has gotten since the messiah of "change" took office.
