Published: February 18, 2009

A 75-year-old Spring Hill man was killed in a three-car collision Monday morning on County Line Road, east of Runyon Drive.

Troopers say the deceased, Roosevelt Morin, pulled out in front of an eastbound car from the Dollar General parking lot, causing the first collision around 9 a.m. The impact spun Morin's Mercedes counterclockwise until it came to a stop in the westbound lane. A semi tractor-trailer truck going west then struck the stationary car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Meanwhile, the eastbound car was still spinning from the force of the first collision and it overturned before coming to a rest upright on the road shoulder. The Honda's driver, Daniel Giddings, 24, of Spring Hill, was flown to a Tampa hospital in critical condition; his condition was unavailable Tuesday.

The tractor trailer's driver, Craig Toland, 49, of Brooksville, received minor injuries.

Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle Listed In Fair Condition

SPRING HILL - A 35-year-old Spring Hill woman is recovering after she was struck by a Jeep Laredo as she walked on the shoulder of Amero Lane.

Danielle Sullivan was walking on the shoulder of Amero near Diane Street around 8 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a Jeep driven by Michelle Nielsen, 33, of Spring Hill, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Nielsen told troopers that she didn't see Sullivan - who was walking against the flow of traffic - because of condensation and glare on the windshield. Sullivan was flown by helicopter to a Tampa hospital, where she was listed in fair condition on Tuesday.

Nielsen was ticketed for failure to use due care.
