BROOKSVILLE - It's that time of year again.
The Hernando County Parks Department this week started charging the annual peak season $2 per vehicle parking fee at Pine Island.
The parking fee will be charged from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and will be in effect through Nov. 14.
Rogers Park will begin charging in late March or early April and continue through mid-September.
Annual parking passes for Pine Island and Rogers Park are available for $40, including tax, at the tax collector's westside office, 7489 Forest Oaks Blvd., and at the Parks Department in room 260 at the Government Center in Brooksville.

The Parks Department has announced it has reopened the boat ramp at Rogers Park, which had been closed for removal of the existing stationary dock and installation of a new floating dock.
Rogers Park is located on the Weeki Wachee River at 7244 Shoal Line Blvd.
