The paramour of a woman accused of brutally beating a teenager and keeping him locked in a bathroom for two years was arrested Thursday on similar charges.
Investigators named Anton Angelo, 45, as another perpetrator of the alleged abuse that left the 16-year-old boy with a broken arm and covered in welts and lacerations.
An arrest affidavit lays out a now familiar story about how the victim was locked in the bathroom for the past two years every time Angelo and the other suspect, Tai-Ling Gigliotti, left for work.
The victim managed to occasionally escape, but once this was discovered the suspects bolted the door shut with metal brackets and covered the bathroom window with plywood, the affidavit states.
On Sunday, the victim managed to remove the plywood, but his temporary freedom was punished with a brutal beating with a three-inch plank of wood and a metal-tipped garden hose, according to the affidavit.
At one point, when the victim "could no longer stand the pain," Gigliotti called for Angelo, who has lived with the family for eight years,to hold the wood for her, the affidavit states. The victim was shoved into the bathroom, naked and bleeding, his hands bound with packing tape, the affidavit states.
On Monday, the victim managed to break the door off its hinges and run to a neighbor's house for help. Authorities began an investigation that culminated in Gigliotti's arrest Tuesday on charges of false imprisonment and aggravated child abuse. The victim is in protective custody with the state.
Angelo now faces identical charges; his bond is set at $50,000.
