SPRING HILL - A woman camped out on a shopping plaza sidewalk tried to head butt deputies when they arrested her Tuesday on a charge of trespassing.
The suspect, Melissa Cody, 44, was removed Monday from outside the Publix store at 1400 Pinehurst Drive, but was spotted on the property later that day by deputies. On Tuesday, deputies were called back to the store because Cody was spread out on the sidewalk with her belongings, "appearing to be homeless," an arrest affidavit states.
Cody refused to obey the deputy's commands to leave and flailed her arms when law enforcement moved in to arrest her, according to an affidavit. Cody was charged with resisting an officer with violence, resisting without violence and trespassing.
