Kudos To East, Marrero
Re: "Honor for a Lost Brother" published in Hernando Today, Jan. 31.
I would like to publicly thank Bob East III, Hernando Today staff photographer, and Tony Marrero, Hernando Today reporter, for the wonderful job they did by coming to our home and interviewing my husband, Joseph Seyfried, who was to receive the Purple Heart Award for his brother, Francis Seyfried, who was an MIA since December 1944 while returning from an air fight over Germany.
Tony Marrero listened to Joe's story of his brother and captured every word in print, and Bob East's photography captured a picture that was worth a thousand words. Thank you both so very much for making what was an emotional day for Joe into a very happy day.

THE Bus ads sure will draw attention to all four businesses. We know people will see the ads as they ride THE Bus.
Growth will also help, as Hernando County is still having people who need the service, which is part of our county.
If we can get Saturday for working people, they will use this service for shopping and everyday needs, like visiting, doctor visits or just pleasure for a day out and enjoy family and friends.
Also, the stores coming in would also be a great thing to have THE Bus be expanded to reach stores for all to buy with the sales and so much more to see what we all need to buy.

Less Is More
Re: Streamlining plan approved by commissioners in the Jan. 28 edition of Hernando Today.
The Hernando County Commission unanimously has adopted administrator's doctoral thesis plan for reorganizing government to cut costs. Ten issues to be addressed already have been identified. Nothing is heard about the need to increase work productivity.
Work productivity is increased by routine tasks being changed as to when, where, how and by whom performed. Again, surfing the Internet for self-gratification, procrastination, cell phone socializing, hopping between tasks, reorganization stress and inadequate off-duty sleep decrease productivity.
Increased productivity would enable county government to operate effectively with a staff reduced considerably, mainly by attrition. Further, less staff needs less equipment, materials and utilities, as well as less space for work and car parking.
